Does anyone know where I can find a civil rights lawyer that will take my case on a contigency in Texas?
Q. The small town and county seat that I live near are discriminating against me and not giving me equal protection by law and not enforcing a mutually agreed injunction order.

How far would a horse in the 1800s U.S. travel in one day?
Q. I was raised in East Texas. There county "seats" are set 30 miles apart. I always thought that that was because that was how far a horse could ride in a day. So, I'm asking the average speed of a horse with rider across fairly level plains or dirt roads. Or, how long would it take the average horse and rider to cover 30 miles riding at a comfortable pace? It makes my backside sore just to think about it!

A. Btwn 20 and 30 miles would be a good estimate. Horses back then were conditiond to it more. The 3 day events do a 50 mile trail ride that is gruesom but on level ground it should be feasible for 30 miles in a day.

Swine Flu in Texas - total coincidence?
Q. I'm drawing no conclusions. Just would appreciate your thoughts. Guadalupe County is a quiet mostly rural area with several small towns, including Seguin the county seat. Nothing major there. It is located just east of San Antonio which is a substantial city and a hub for travel to and from Mexico. This article appeared in the Seguin newspaper in March, detailing a pandemic exercise planned for May 2. Today our daughter called and said the CDC is shutting down a local school district due to swine flu. The governor has asked for thousands of inoculations. So, total coincidence, great computer modeling, or something else.

Do Democrat claims of electoral victories this fall faith in their messiah Obama or ACORN's voter fraud plan?
Q. "You have me" - that was Obama's answer to a Democrat congressman's concerns that history was repeating itself and the Democrats would suffer massive losses in congress and lose control of the House & Senate as they did in 1994 losing 54 house and 8 Senate seats. His response was that "Things are different this time, you have me". 2nd - ACORN has a history going back to 1986 when 12 members were convicted of voter fraud in Missouri. Since then they have continued a campaign of voter fraud registering one man 72 times in exchange for beer & cigarettes. At least 14 states have investigated ACORN for their 2008 voter registrations. In Harris County, Texas (Houston) the 30,000 V.R. turned in by ACORN 20,000 were fraudulent including some… [cont.]

Q. What do other supporters of illegals have to say about one of their own arrested for helping illegals break the law ?McALLEN, Texas A south Texas county commissioner pleaded guilty Monday to two felony counts stemming from her putting illegal immigrants who worked at her home on the county payroll. Hidalgo County Commissioner Sylvia Handy pleaded guilty to making false statements on her 2005 income tax return and conspiracy to conceal or harbor illegal immigrants, according to federal court records. Lawyers had prepared to begin picking the jury for her trial Monday. A. Yes this is the underground economy. This explains how the illegal aliens get away with the obvious. This is widespread corruption on all levels. That is why Obamacare is being forced down our throats. Now comes the biggest devil of them all. This immigration reform ( Which is really Amnesty in disguise ) is a real disaster in the making. Obama couldn't pass Amnesty so he buried it inside the immigration reform hoping that Americans won't notice. Yes our great President really thinks we are that stupid. Mr. Obama predicted that he would be successful but acknowledged the challenges, saying, I ve got a lot on my plate. He added that there would almost certainly be demagogues out there who try to suggest that any form or pathway for… [cont.]

Does our public medical care system treat illegal immigrants better than American citizens?
Q. This has been around for a bit, but I thought is was worth sharing and debating: Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas is a fairly famous institution and for a variety of reasons: 1. John F. Kennedy died there in 1963 2. Lee Harvey Oswald died there shortly after 3. Jack Ruby, who killed Lee Harvey Oswald, died there a few years later by coincidence On the flip side, Parkland is also home to the second busiest maternity ward in the country with almost 16,000 new babies arriving each year. (That's almost 44 per day -- every day) A recent patient survey indicated that 70 percent of the women who gave birth at Parkland in the first three months of 2006 were illegal immigrants.' A. Thanks for writing this well researched article. I have been saying this for quite a while now. The amount of money our government spends on medicaid is astronomical. In 1995, total state and fed medicaid spending was approx $156B, in 2004 $309B. In 2004 fed spending alone was $176B. Adults between the age of 21 and 64 without children receive no medicaid benefits at all. Here is a nice quote "As noted above, in a recent year in Colorado, the state's emergency Medicaid program paid an estimated $30 million in hospital and physician delivery costs for about 6,000 illegal immigrant mothers - average of $5,000 per baby." The solution is easy, go after the employers, without jobs, illegals immigration will decline. Force illegals… [cont.]

A. Yaya (one from the answers), are you provocateur? or just naive (stupid on government welfare)? If you what open boarders, than live by an example, do not lock your house or car, let the needy have it. BUT don't look for my money! Obama promised that every new law/bill will be on the web for the people to see it. Anyway, ti is ridiculous what we must put up with, especially when all the Mexicans glorifying Mexico do not stay in Mexico. Mexico has 'free' heath care, as well as, Cuba.

What do you think about demigod Ron Paul about to lose his house seat?
Q. Ron Paul is in the fight of his political life, but it s not for the presidency. It s to stay in Congress from his own district. While pursuing his thus far quixotic quest for the presidency, Congressman Paul has fallen behind by over ten points in the polls (43-32) in the fight for the Republican nomination in the Texas 14th to challenger Chris Peden, according to internal polls from both campaigns, which Pajamas Media was told were quite similar. Peden is a 43-year old CPA and city councilman from Friendswood, Texas. The primary takes place on March 4. With reports for January 2008 not yet out, Congressman Paul has spent (according to OpenSecrets.org) $20,262,084 on his presidential campaign - well over a million dollars per delegate ( [cont.]

Warrant for my arrest for failure to provide insurance?
Q. Warrant for my arrest for failure to provide insurance? In July of 2004 I was leaving El Paso Texas on my home to Florida, when I got pulled over for not wearing my seat belt. I don't remember, but I somehow wound up with a citation for the lack of seat belt, and failure to provide insurance. It is now 5 years later, I have renewed my license at least once, registered a car and rejoined the Army. All with my driving record clean. 4 days ago I got a letter in the mail from a collection agency claiming I had three citations. After my wife tried to get in touch with the county courthouse, she was informed that the number she received was the wrong number. I now have three citations, failure to provide insurance (I had insurance, and have the… [cont.]

A. Did you actually speak to someone at the county, or was it via a number given in the collection agency letter? Many of those are scams. Unpaid ticket lists can be obtained by anyone who knows how. Then a letter is sent (sometimes posing as the court and other times as a collection agency.) Who did they say to put as payee on the $1,070+/- check? Sometimes they will use the correct name, (clerk of courts, El Paso County, TX, but with a P.O. Box for mailing, rather than the actual street address of the court.) but checks are fairly easy for professionals to alter. (and cashing it across the border makes the crook untraceable.) Anything you might owe would be to the county, not some collection agency. (and not some "judge") Was the ticket… [cont.]

A. 1. The tC is a fairly good car on the country but you will feel bumps, if you ae constantly out in the country and it is a dirt road and very dusty you will have to CHECK not change the air filter every time you change your oil. but its best to go slow in a bump off road area. it'll hold up, some guys have taken the tC in the desert driven through sand and some guys have taken it through a creek with water up to the hood. 2. I hear farmers insurance is good, i have USAA and thats only for military and military dependents. the tC is suppose to be classified as a 3 door sedan/coupe hatchback. that is how mine is classified and insurance for me is between $600-700 a year. i hear some people pay up to $1000 insurance for a tC which is way to… [cont.]
