Think of a regular ear piercing, how it makes that little round hole. Now imagine it slightly larger. An 8g stretch isn't going to just hang there completely open to full size unless you had it punched out at that size which is unlikely or you have particularly thin, dangly ears which is also unlikely. People may notice it and ask you what happened to your ears, but its not going to be a case of people being able to look right through your lobe with no jewelry in place. It will just look like something a little strange happened to your regular ear piercings.
